Dr. Morgan: Good day, ladies and gentlemen. Today, we have the privilege of sharing an extraordinary story of resilience and courage in the face of Aplastic Anemia. I’m Dr. Morgan, and I’m here with Mr. Niranjan Gyawali, a 37-year-old man from Nepal, who has been on a long and arduous journey with this rare blood disorder since 2018. Niranjan, thank you for joining us today.

Niranjan Gyawali: Thank you, Dr. Morgan, for having me. It’s an honor to share my story in the hope that it might inspire and provide hope to others facing similar challenges.

Dr. Morgan: Niranjan, let’s go back to 2018. Can you tell us about the early days of your Aplastic Anemia journey?

Niranjan Gyawali: Absolutely. In 2018, my life took an unexpected turn. I began to experience debilitating fatigue, unexplained bruising, and frequent nosebleeds. I initially thought it was a passing issue, but as days turned into weeks, my condition worsened. Simple tasks left me breathless and exhausted. Concerned about my health, I decided to seek medical help.

Dr. Morgan: What happened during your initial visit to the hospital?

Niranjan Gyawali: At the local hospital, I underwent a series of tests, including a Complete Blood Count (CBC). The results were shocking. My white blood cell (WBC) count was alarmingly low at just 1500, my platelet count was a mere 18,000, and my hemoglobin level had dropped to 7.1.  And gone through Bone Marrow-Cytology and Biopsy .It was then that I received the diagnosis of Aplastic Anemia.

Dr. Morgan: How did you react when you first received this diagnosis?

Niranjan Gyawali: It was a surreal and crushing moment, Dr. Morgan. Aplastic Anemia was a term I had never heard of, and the uncertainty of my future weighed heavily on me. The reality of a life-threatening condition was hard to digest, and I had a million questions racing through my mind.

Dr. Morgan: After the diagnosis, what were the steps you took to confront this challenge?

Niranjan Gyawali: I decided that I wouldn’t let Aplastic Anemia define me. My journey began with seeking multiple medical opinions in Nepal and India. I wanted to be certain about my treatment plan. Eventually, I chose to take cyclosporine and underwent blood transfusions as required. The path to recovery was paved with numerous hospital visits and regular blood tests, but I was committed to fighting this disease.

Dr. Morgan: How did your family and friends react to your diagnosis?

Niranjan Gyawali: My family and friends played an invaluable role in my journey. Initially, they were as shocked as I was, but their unwavering support and encouragement became my guiding light. Their belief in my strength and determination gave me the strength to face the challenges that lay ahead.

Dr. Morgan: Can you share your experiences with medical care in both India and Nepal?

Niranjan Gyawali: I was fortunate to receive exceptional medical care in both India and Nepal. The healthcare professionals were not only skilled but also compassionate. I was closely monitored, and my treatment, including cyclosporine, was adjusted as necessary to manage the disease effectively. The journey was demanding, but the support of my healthcare team kept me moving forward.

Dr. Morgan: What were the most significant challenges you faced during this journey?

Niranjan Gyawali: The unpredictability of Aplastic Anemia was perhaps the biggest challenge. Each day brought new uncertainties, and there were moments when I felt like I was losing the battle. However, I learned to savor the small victories and take life one day at a time. The journey taught me that with the right mindset and support, it’s possible to overcome even the most daunting of illnesses.MY  Recent CBC  update -WBC-3700,PLATELET-85K AND HB-10.2
